Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Fixtures Labs LLC ("Fixtures Labs," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the CocktailSnap Android application and its related services (collectively, the "App").

By downloading, accessing, purchasing through, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

CocktailSnap does not sell alcohol and does not provide professional health or safety advice. Its ingredient recognition and cocktail suggestions use artificial intelligence and may be wrong. Always verify results yourself and consume alcohol legally and responsibly.

Eligibility and responsible use

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the App only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. You may prepare or consume alcoholic drinks only if you meet the applicable legal drinking age and comply with all local laws.

Do not drink and drive or operate machinery, and do not use the App in a way that creates a risk to you or anyone else.

What CocktailSnap provides

CocktailSnap lets you submit a photo of bottles or ingredients for automated analysis and may return recognized ingredients, cocktail suggestions, measurements, and preparation instructions. An internet connection is required for scanning and certain purchase, restore, update, and platform functions.

AI-generated and third-party-derived results can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inconsistent. Before preparing or consuming anything, verify bottle labels, alcohol content, ingredients, measurements, allergens, dietary restrictions, medication interactions, and safe preparation methods. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to use any result.

Your photos and other submissions

You retain any rights you have in photos and other information you submit. You give Fixtures Labs a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, and process a submission only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the App, including through the service providers described in our Privacy Policy. Our use under this license ends when processing is complete and we no longer retain a copy, except for legacy copies and limited records we must retain by law or for legitimate security and operational purposes. AI routing services and model providers may retain submission data under their own policies, and Fixtures Labs cannot require or guarantee deletion from their systems. Service-provider processing and retention are described in the Privacy Policy.

When submitting content, you represent that:

you own it or have the rights and permissions necessary to submit and process it;
it does not violate another person's privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or other rights; and
it does not contain unlawful material, malware, or sensitive information unrelated to the App's purpose.

Only submit photos of bottles and related ingredients. Do not submit photos of people, personal documents, payment information, or other sensitive information.

Free access and app unlock

The App is not ad-supported and currently provides a limited number of free scans. After the free allowance is used, continued scanning requires the non-consumable "unlock app" in-app purchase shown in the App. The unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The price and any applicable taxes are displayed by Google Play before you confirm the purchase.

Google Play processes the transaction, associates the entitlement with your store account, and governs payment processing. You may restore a recognized unlock using the same eligible store account on a supported device. Store availability, account status, device compatibility, and platform rules may affect purchase or restoration.

Refunds are governed by applicable law and the Google Play refund policy. If a purchase is refunded, reversed, or charged back, access to the paid entitlement may be removed. An unlock provides access while the App and its scanning service remain available; it is not a promise that the App or online service will operate forever.

License and intellectual property

Subject to these Terms, Fixtures Labs grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to install and use the App for your own non-commercial purposes. The App is licensed, not sold. Fixtures Labs and its licensors retain all rights in the App, including its software, branding, design, text, and other content, except for your submissions and third-party materials.

Unless applicable law expressly permits it, you may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute, modify, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.

Acceptable use

You may not use the App to:

break the law, infringe another person's rights, or facilitate harmful conduct;
upload malicious code or content you do not have permission to process;
interfere with, overload, probe, scrape, or attempt unauthorized access to the App or its infrastructure;
circumvent scan limits, purchase verification, security controls, or access restrictions; or
misrepresent an App result as verified professional, medical, nutritional, or safety advice.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how CocktailSnap handles submitted photos, technical information, local App data, retention, security, service providers, and deletion requests. By using the App, you acknowledge that information is processed as described there.

Third-party services

The App depends on third-party services, including Google Play, Expo Application Services, Ramp Router, OpenRouter, underlying AI model providers, AWS, Cloudflare, and Grafana Cloud. Your use of third-party services may also be subject to their terms, including the Google Play Terms of Service, Expo Terms of Service, Ramp Router Terms of Service, and OpenRouter Terms of Service.

Fixtures Labs does not control third-party networks or platforms and is not responsible for outages, changes, retention, deletion practices, or acts of those providers. Your mobile carrier or internet provider may charge data, roaming, or other connectivity fees.

Updates, changes, and availability

We may update the App, change free features or scan limits, add or remove functionality, or stop offering some or all of the App. We do not guarantee compatibility with every device or operating system. You may need to install updates to continue using the App. Changes affecting paid features remain subject to applicable law and Google Play requirements.

We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the App, users, service providers, or others; comply with law; address security or technical problems; or respond to a violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available." Fixtures Labs disclaims all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that scans will identify every ingredient or that a suggested recipe will be accurate, safe, suitable, or available to you.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fixtures Labs and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data or profits, or harm resulting from reliance on App results, even if advised that such harm was possible.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the App during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the App, our business, or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them; otherwise, you must stop using the App.

General terms

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and Fixtures Labs concerning the App, except for terms imposed by Google Play or other applicable third-party services.
